Music and singing students learn Balkan folk music that is unique to Serbian Roma and is linked to the Serbian-Romany way of life. To master this music one must live the lifestyle of the region; growing up hearing and playing the music. However, through exposure, practice and learning it is also possible to understand and command this distinct style. We have chosen instructors who can pass on their musical expertise and experience to you. Our teachers provide instruction in a traditional way – students learn by ear, through listening to instructors and by playing together. Your teacher may not speak any languages other than Romany and Serbian, so come prepared to learn by listening!
